About This Calculator

The GPA Calculator helps you calculate your Grade Point Average by entering your courses, credit hours, and letter grades. Add multiple courses to calculate your overall GPA.

This calculator uses the standard 4.0 GPA scale where A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, and F = 0.0. Grades with +/- modifiers are weighted accordingly.

Formula & Calculation Method

GPA Formula:

GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours) / Σ(Credit Hours)

Grade Points:
A+/A = 4.0, A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7
F = 0.0

Example: If you have an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course and a B (3.0) in a 4-credit course:
GPA = (4.0 × 3 + 3.0 × 4) / (3 + 4) = (12 + 12) / 7 = 3.43
